KAYLEE HAS BEEN A ROCK CLIMBER FOR OVER 10 YEARS. GROWING UP IN CONNECTICUT, THERE WASN’T A GYM OR ROCK CLIMBING COMMUNITY CLOSE BY. IT WASN’T UNTIL SHE FOUND CLIMBING IN HER EARLY 20’S LIVING IN BOSTON DID SHE FIND HER HOME AND HER COMMUNITY. AFTER COLLEGE, KAYLEE AND HER PARTNER CODY LIVED IN CHATTANOOGA,TENNESSEE FOR 8 YEARS TO GROW IN THEIR PASSIONS OF CLIMBING AND YOGA. SHE OWNED A YOGA STUDIO FOR 7 YEARS, BUT FELT MASSACHUSETTS LEFT A STRONG MARK ON HER HEART. CODY AND KAYLEE MOVED BACK UP TO MATTAPOISETT, GOT MARRIED AND ARE NOW READY TO ROOT IN THIS COMMUNITY.

Founder

Amanda Desrosiers started rock climbing in 2011, thanks to her partner Evan. She instantly fell in love with the sport and the community that she was surrounded by. Her objective is to share her passion for climbing with the downtown community, welcome new people to the city of New Bedford and show them what a great city the small businesses and artist communities have collectively built over the years. In 2019, Amanda was also nominated as a Southcoast Emerging Leader for her existing leadership we role as owner and operator of People’s Pressed Juice and Açaí Bowls also located downtown. In 2021, Amanda and her partner Evan welcomed their son Ezekiel into the world and he’s already climbing up walls.

Founder

Cody has been working professionally in the rock climbing industry for over 15 years and got his start right in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He is 1 of 20 who has earned USA Climbing Level 5 National Chief Routesetting certifications in the country and is also a USA Climbing National Chief Instructor. Additionally, he is 1 of 12 Climbing Wall Association Work-at-Height Providers, instructing folks across the country on industry best practices. Owner of the indoor climbing consultation firm, Syndicate Routesetting and Consultation, Cody spends much of his time helping gym owners develop and grow nationwide. Also a firefighter for the Town of Mattapoisett, Cody looks forward to creating a community cornerstone right in the heart of downtown New Bedford to share his passion for climbing with people for years to come.

FOUNDER

Evan has been an avid rock climber for almost 20 years. Growing up in Rhode Island, he found his way to New Bedford via No Problemos when he was 16 years old. His hard work and dedication to the sport has allowed him to become a well known and respected member of the New England rock climbing community. Evan served the City of New Bedford as a licensed plumber for over 10 years working for many local businesses downtown. In his spare time, Evan builds custom motorcycles inspired by the stylings of 1960’s and 70’s choppers.
